of that season), doing so against Littler in a quarter-final match. Even though

His most
recent nine-darter came at the 2025 German Darts Grand Prix, where he produced
a flawless leg against Ryan Searle on his way to lifting the title. Of course,
Van Gerwen is also tied to one of the most memorable legs in darts history. In
the 2023 World Championship final against Michael Smith, he was a single dart
away from a nine-darter—missing D12 by millimetres—only for Smith to
immediately complete a perfect leg himself.
