As the NFL season heads into its most important stretch, the picture around Super Bowl LX is taking shape. With the playoffs approaching, recent performances matter more than preseason expectations.
The Kansas
City Chiefs are out of the picture, having missed the playoffs altogether – a
major shift in the NFL landscape after years of dominance. That absence has
opened the door for a more unpredictable Super Bowl race.
Looking at
Super Bowl odds and recent form, a small group of teams has pulled clear as
genuine contenders. Here's a closer look at the current favourites, how they've
been performing, and why they're being taken seriously.
Los
Angeles Rams
The Rams are
joint-favourites at 4/1, and that's mostly down to how strong they've looked
lately.
Matthew
Stafford has found form at the right moment, managing games well while still
delivering big throws when needed. On offence, Cooper Kupp remains a reliable
focal point, consistently moving the chains and creating problems in critical
situations.
Defensively,
Aaron Donald continues to be a game-changer. He's been central to disrupting
the pocket in recent wins, especially against playoff-calibre teams.
The Rams
look balanced, confident, and like a team improving as the
pressure increases.
Seattle
Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks’ rise to joint-favourite status has been built on consistency and discipline, even if the season didn't start perfectly. Despite losing their opening game of the 2025 season, the Seahawks have only lost three games in total since, showing just how strong they've been.
Defence has
driven that turnaround. Leonard Williams has anchored the unit, while the secondary
has done an outstanding job limiting explosive plays and forcing opponents to
earn every yard.
Offensively,
Jaxon Smith-Njigba has become an increasingly important part of Seattle’s
attack. His route-running and ability to find space underneath have provided a
reliable option on third downs, while his yards after catch have helped keep
drives alive.
They may not
dominate the headlines, but Seattle's ability to limit mistakes and grind out
wins has made them one of the toughest teams left in the playoff field.
Denver
Broncos
The Denver
Broncos are currently third in the odds at 6/1. They've lost just three games
all season, with two of those defeats coming early, games two and three
against the Indianapolis Colts and LA Chargers. Since then, the Broncos have
looked far more settled and confident.
Offensively,
a calmer and more controlled approach has made a clear difference. Better
decision-making, fewer errors and improved execution in key moments have
allowed the Broncos to stay on schedule and capitalise when scoring chances
arise.
Defensively,
strong coverage and discipline in the secondary have been crucial. The Broncos
have consistently limited opposing passing threats, giving the team flexibility
across the field and helping them edge tight games in their favour during a
strong run of form.
Philadelphia
Eagles
The Eagles
head into the playoffs as the reigning Super Bowl champions, but their recent form
has been less convincing. Since 23 November, the Eagles have lost four games, a
run that's raised questions about whether they're peaking too early or simply
hitting a mid-season dip at the wrong time.
That said,
writing them off would be a mistake. Championship experience still counts, and
much of the core that lifted the Lombardi Trophy last season remains intact.
They're currently fourth favourites to win with odds of 15/2.
Offensively,
their ability to combine mobility with calm decision-making continues to cause
problems for defences, particularly in high-pressure situations. That
flexibility allows plays to be extended and keeps opponents under constant
strain.
On the
defensive side of the ball, late-game pressure has been a key strength. When
the Eagles are switched on, they remain capable of slowing down elite offences
and controlling tight games.
